How do I get a vote-by-mail ballot?

You must request an absentee ballot by October 29th; October 30th if you are a military voter or indefinitely confined. Request and track your vote by mail ballot.



What identification is required to vote-by-mail?

To vote by mail, you must submit a copy of a valid photo ID (such as driver license, passport, or ID card issued by a Wisconsin accredited university) that contains a date of issuance, signature, and expiration date. Find more information about acceptable forms of photo ID.



How do I complete my vote-by-mail ballot?

  • Read full instructions on how to correctly fill out a vote-by-mail ballot.
  • Use a pen to bubble in your selection. Verify your information, and then sign and date.
  • Have a witness sign and write their mailing address on the envelope.
  • Mail your ballot so that it arrives on or before election day.
  • Completed absentee ballots must be delivered no later than 8 PM on Election Day. The U.S. postal service recommends absentee ballots be mailed one week before Election Day to arrive on time.
